MB.CHARGE Public
Mercedes-Benz Charging Network
Green Charging
As part of MB.CHARGE Public, Mercedes-Benz guarantees Green Charging in Europe, Canada, and the USA at public charging points. In comparison to our Mercedes-Benz Charging Network, for a customer it is sometimes difficult to discern whether a public charging point provides electricity from renewable energies or not.
If electricity from renewable energies is not yet provided at the respective charging station, MB.CHARGE Public uses Energy Attribute Certificates to ensure that an equivalent amount of electricity from renewable energies is fed into the power grid.
The Energy Attribute Certificates are from certified energy generation plants (EKOenergy in Europe, Green-e in North America), i.e. exclusively wind and solar power plants that are less than six years old (except in the UK and Poland). Where possible, the Energy Attribute Certificates are generated and cancelled within the country where customers charge.
