The three-star luxury automotive brand also provided a special one-off cash donation amounting RM10,000.00 per shelter home as part of the brand’s community efforts to provide local communities in need with the hope to continue building a brighter future for the next generation.

"As a global brand, it is our social responsibility and one of our core values to nurture and empower our little ones as they are our future, for a better and sustainable tomorrow. Therefore, this year, we wanted to spread the joy and laughter of the season even further by extending our Christmas in a Shoebox celebration not to one, but to three different children's homes."

Sagree Sardien, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia

“Every child deserves to wish upon a (Mercedes) star. We are glad to be able to bring joy to these underprivileged children, and take great pride in supporting such initiatives over the last 12 years. We hope to continue this initiative for many years to come. This event is also something that our employees look forward to every year as it is such a fun and meaningful way to give back to our community. It is the small and simple gestures that makes the biggest impact in life,” she added.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s employees took part in this initiative from the nomination and voting of shelter homes, to buying gifts according to the children’s wish list. The 150 children from the three homes with the highest votes were asked to write down their Christmas present wish list where employees and friends of Mercedes-Benz then purchased these gifts for them.

The employees, deemed as the ‘Elf Squad’ also visited, decorated, and handed out Christmas gifts to the top three nominated children’s homes from 15-19 December 2022. These children also enjoyed fun games, food and fun ride with various Mercedes-Benz cars including the all-electric models from Mercedes-EQ as they celebrated their very own Christmas party in their newly decorated homes.
