Statement in response to the extended Movement Control Order

Following the recent announcement of the extension on Movement Control Order (MCO) by the Malaysian Government, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will take the following measures as part of our ongoing commitment to customers from 28th April 2020 to 12th May 2020:

  • Mercedes-Benz authorized dealerships nationwide are currently awaiting approval from the government to resume operation of routine service and maintenance and/or repairs.
  • Vehicle service and warranty grace period will be extended by 60 days beyond the end of MCO.
  • Service24h Roadside Assistance remain operational for emergency breakdown and technical issues.
  • Mercedes-Benz local production facility in Pekan, Pahang will remain closed.

 

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is continuously monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in order to be able to react to this dynamically changing situation at any time. As we focus towards flattening the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to reiterate the importance of social distancing and urge all Malaysians to #stayhome.

  • Are service centers going to be closed? If not, what are the necessary measure being taken for customers and employees on site? Are online appointments available?
    We are pleased to announce that selected Mercedes-Benz service centres will reopen their doors to you.

  • For customers who face a vehicle breakdown, what are the options available? Is the 24 hrs breakdown service open?

    To observe crowd control during this time, no walk-in customers will be allowed. Please contact your preferred dealer or book a service appointment now.
 
  • Customer who have service schedules booked during this period, what are their next steps?
    Dealers will be calling all customers for rescheduling of appointment.
 
  • Will there be an extension to the service intervals that will have no impact on the warranty?
    Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will be providing an additional extended service and warranty grace period. Should your vehicle’s service period due date fall between 18th March and 12th May 2020, please ensure your vehicle service is performed within 60 days from the expiration date of the extended MCO* and it will not be counted as a missed service.
 
  • Will there be an extension on vehicle warranties?
    All vehicle warranties expiring between 18th March and 30th June 2020 will be honored. Please ensure your vehicle warranty repair performed within 60 days after 30th June 2020.
 
  • Will mobile service be activated?
    No, all maintenance service will be conducted after the 12th May 2020.
 
  • Is there a hotline number that MB customers can call for further information?
    Customers can contact 1-800-88-1133 for more information.
 
  • Will car delivery for new owners be put on hold/any delay?
    Yes it will be put on hold until after 12th May 2020.
 

 

  • What are the next steps for Mercedes-Benz with the Government allowing selected sectors to resume business such as workshops and service centres?
    We are monitoring the situation while closely working with our dealer network to apply for the necessary permits to be operational for servicing and maintenance. We will provide further updates via our social media channels.
 
  • Should business resume operations, how is Mercedes-Benz ensuring safety of customers?
    Customer safety is utmost important to us. We are in the midst of working with the respective parties to open after-sale services in dealerships. Should we receive the approvals, be rest assured we will be implementing the appropriate safety measures including but not limited to the requirements by the government.
