COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST.
COLLISION PREVENTION ASSISTCOLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST is optionally available for the V-Class, V-Class AVANTGARDE and the V-Class EXCLUSIVE. It is part of the optional Driving Assistance package. helps the driver to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and gives an audible warning when a collision threatens.
COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST issues a visual warning if the minimum distance from a vehicle ahead is undercut. At the same time the system activates BAS PRO Brake Assist, which – if the driver does not brake hard enough – automatically boosts the braking pressure.
The LED Intelligent Light SystemThe LED Intelligent Light System is optional for the V-Class and standard equipment for the V-Class AVANTGARDE and V-Class EXCLUSIVE. adapts the vehicle lights to suit the light, road and weather conditions. It increases perceptual safety and relieves driver stress.
The adaptive headlamps can automatically adjust to suit the driving situation. High Beam Assist helps to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. Active curve lights pivot the headlamps into the bend, improving road illumination.
Lane Keeping AssistLane Keeping Assist is optionally available in conjunction with the Lane Tracking package or the optional Driving Assistance package for the V-Class, V-Class AVANTGARDE and V-Class EXCLUSIVE. helps to prevent accidents caused by leaving the lane unintentionally. Depending on the desired operating mode, Lane Keeping Assist is active from a speed of around 60 km/h.
A multifunction camera can recognise lane marking and controls whether the vehicle is moving in its own lane. If the vehicle leaves its lane unintentionally, Lane Keeping Assist gives the driver a haptic warning that it is about to cross a detected lane marking.
Radar-based Distance Assist DISTRONICDistance Assist DISTRONIC is optionally available for the V-Class, V-Class AVANTGARDE and V-Class EXCLUSIVE. maintains the distance from vehicles ahead and assists the driver in e.g. stop-and-go traffic.
Distance Assist DISTRONIC accelerates the vehicle by itself and brakes it with a maximum of half the vehicle's braking power in order to maintain a safe distance. Should the system register that heavier braking by the driver is required, an intermittent warning tone sounds and a warning symbol lights up.
