‎KUALA LUMPUR - Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently hosted the 2022 MercedesTrophy National Finals, bringing the tournament to a close for the year. Capping its 32nd year on the greens, the MercedesTrophy has evolved into an extremely successful tournament series for amateurs staged in over 60 countries.

Mr Lew Pei Yew, Overall Champion of the MercedesTrophy 2022, said “It is a great and satisfying feeling to be crowned the Overall Winner of this prestigious tournament. Surrounded by worthy competitors, the tournament showed me that I am on the right track with my practise and training. I really look forward to this tournament every year as it attracts the top golfers nationwide and the Saujana Golf and Country Club course was in fantastic condition making it a challenging yet exciting course to play. It was an honour to be a part of this tournament and I look forward to playing in the MercedesTrophy 2022 World Final in Sindelfingen in September."

This year’s competition was played in five qualifying rounds with its first qualifying round at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club and the top five winners of each round met for the National Final which was held at the Saujana Golf & Country Club, Selangor. A real test of skill and temperament for all finalists with the Saujana GCC’s Palm Course, dubbed one of the toughest golf courses in Malaysia. The winners for the MercedesTrophy 2022 National Final were, Overall Champion, Mr Lew Pei Yew, 1^st Runner-up, En Shamsul Fadhli B Anuari and the EPOS watch lucky draw winner Mr Ng Meng Sin.

The tournament offered many exciting prizes and exclusive merchandises including the all-new Mercedes-Benz E 200 Avantgarde. The grand prize for the top two finishing finalists in the National Final is a Trophy and all-expense paid trip to the MercedesTrophy 2022 World Final in Sindelfingen, Germany from 28 Sept – 3 Oct. They will be joined by the winner from the MercedesTrophy National Final 2020 Mr Gow Weng Suan, forming a team of three, to represent Malaysia in the World Final.
