The annual MercedesTrophy event was once again successfully held for the 16th year at the infamous Saujana Golf & Country Club (Palm Course).
This international series was played worldwide in a three stage system - the Malaysian Final, Asian Final and World Final. The series started with invitation tournaments at a local level where player qualifed for the next national final of the country in question or the regional final. The climax of the series was then the world final, which for years had been held traditionally in and around Stuttgart, the “cradle of the automobile”. This venue underlines the close relations between the brand Mercedes-Benz and golf.
“The MercedesTrophy is an exclusive series of golf tournaments to keep in touch with owners and is held as part of the company’s very effective customer care program. Worldwide, there are about 540 MercedesTrophy invitation tournaments which result in over 53,000 direct and active contacts with customers,” said Konstantinos Tsiknas, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Malaysia.
The MercedesTrophy serves a long-term platform for customer loyalty. Golf has become much more popular in recent years and is now one of the favourite sports for both young and old; hence it is ideal for Mercedes-Benz owners.
