In the 5-seater of the R-Class, the rear passengers can really sit back and enjoy the 3-seat rear bench seat. The second row comes as standard with two comfortable executive chairs and a centre seat, which can be folded down if necessary to become a practical and convenient centre armrest.

With a load area length of 1.982 metres (2.217 metres in the long-wheelbase version) and a load width of 1.246 metres, the R-Class is also the most spacious car we've ever built. You can easily stow six suitcases. And thanks to the individual seats, the uses for the R-Class are especially variable.

The R-Class comes standard-fit as a 5-seater with a large additional stowage compartment flap recessed into the load compartment floor. In this way the luggage space is supplemented with an additional 51-litre stowage compartment.

If the seats are completely folded forward, they create a flat load area from the backrests of the front seats all the way to the boot lid. Loading is no problem at all thanks to the low 695-millimetre boot sill. Loading is made even more straightforward with the optional EASY-PACK tailgate which operates electrohydraulically and can be opened and closed by means of a remote control unit or switch. This option also includes a useful load compartment cover, but if preferred these two features are also available independently.
