The M-Class is equipped for excellent handling in any situation: the permanent all-wheel-drive system fitted in the 4MATIC is partnered by the ESP®/4ETS electronic dynamic handling control system. Featuring the anti-lock braking system (ABS), acceleration skid control (ASR) and active yaw control (GMR), 4ETS permits optimum distribution of the tractive force between the four drive wheels, which in turn enhances traction, particularly in the face of varying surface conditions. Whenever the off-road switch in the centre console is pressed, ESP®/4ETS primes virtually all system functions for off-road driving.
