The much sought after golf challenge gathered Mercedes-Benz owners in all continents for the coveted title.

The prestigious MercedesTrophy 2005 got into full swing again on 29 April 2005 for the Malaysian Selection. Organized by DaimlerChrysler Malaysia, the action took place at the first-class Saujana Golf & Country Club.
Into its 15th year running, the MercedesTrophy is a yearly golf tournament organized exclusively for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car owners. According to Mr. Konstantinos Tsiknas, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Malaysia, the tournament was a much sought after fixture in many parts of the world.
“The tournament which started off as a golf challenge for Mercedes-Benz owners as part of its customer care programme had, through the years, built itself a reputation based on prestige and quality that comes with the Mercedes-Benz marque,” said Tsiknas.
The MercedesTrophy 2005 Malaysian Selection was held in two stages. There were three Qualifying Round, which started on 29 April 2005 followed by 5 and 11 May 2005 at the Saujana Golf & Country Club (Palm Course). The top four winners from each category from each qualifying round competed in the Malaysian Final on 18 June 2005 at Saujana Golf & Country Club (Bunga Raya Course).
There were four categories of competitors based on the following:
Men : Category A - Handicap 0 - 12 Category B - Handicap 13 - 20 Category C - Handicap 21 - 24 Women : Category D - Handicap 0 - 36
The top two winners from Category A, B & C and the top winner from Category D qualified for the Asian Final that was held at Sanctuary Cove, Australia, from 3rd till 5th August 2005. The golf challenge culminated in September at the MercedesTrophy World Final in Stuttgart, Germany, which has been the venue since it started.
A host of prizes from lifestyle partners TaylorMade, Adidas, Maxfli, Denise and Hitachi were lined-up for the tournament. On top of that, a Mercedes-Benz E200K was up for grabs for a Hole-in-One, which was opened to all Par 3s in the tournament course that applied to every round of the competition. Winners from each category got an all expenses paid trip to Sanctuary Cove, Australia, for the Asian Final.

| MercedesTrophy is an international golf competition held every year especially for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car owners. The top winners from each category will represent Malaysia to compete in the Asian Final in August while the World Final will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, in September. |
